This is a members-only park with RPI access for non-"KM" members. We've been there 5 times since joining KM 2/09. Even in February storms the roads were fine and the sites we had were not soggy underfoot. "Beach Side" sites are nice, but be be careful with your awning. The wind is legendary in this area. We prefer the 'inside' sites for access to nice clubhouse with much better than usual pool table. Friendly staff and great Saturday morning breakfast. "To Die For" cinnamon rolls available on Sunday mornings. Hot tub available, but we haven't used it. Ditto cable TV (13? channels) & WiFi. Great place for quick get-away from I-5 cities.

Former KOA and it shows, but better than when it was a KOA, I'm sure. Stopped only overnight on the way to Yellowstone & didn't use most facilities, but what we saw was spotless and well maintained. Dump station was strangely located, but clean and worked fine. Main problem was hordes of mosquitoes. When we inquired we were told "No one goes camping in Montana without mosquito repellent!" For anyone who's wondering, highway 287 from 3-Forks is a better route to West Yellowstone than 191 from Belgrade. Only 1 steep grade and road seemed straighter. Definitely less traffic & no construction hassles. Also, follows the Madison River a good share of the way, so it's prettier. Would definitely stay here again- either overnight or longer.

Very nice, quiet, park with good I-90 access. Staff was very helpful & definitely not robotic. Had no trouble getting 25' trailer into our (back-in) site despite nice shade trees. Also had plenty of room for the truck. Laundry room was clean & dryer acceptably quick. Shower room spotless & shower stall larger than usual. Will definitely use this park again if/when in the area.

One of nicest KOA's we've ever stayed in, but also most expensive. Propane, particularly, was extortionate. Lots of mosquitoes, but we're told they disappear after July 1st. $52 bought us a power/water site (no sewer) that was small & not level. On site restaurant serves breakfast & lunch every day, not just weekends, but again...expensive. Also exceptionally nice shower arrangement. Handy enough to Yellowstone NP that we'll probably use it again if/when we go back.

Nice, well run park. Members only with RPI access. Stayed 2 nights a week apart. Didn't use facilities but appeared to be well maintained. Nice trees to provide relief from summer heat. Will definitely use again when going E-W on I-90.

Park is rated "best campground in San Diego county" in local newspaper reader poll. I believe it. Great park. Easy reservation system. Late arrival system worked fine. Weather was horrible, but ground handled all the rain just fine (much better than our tent-trailer). Great access to San Diego attractions. Try "Fandangos" in Old Town for breakfast (especially Sunday), lunch or dinner. Very quiet (maybe because of the weather) despite proximity to freeways. Will definitely stay here again, but not in February.

Have stayed here 2 years in a row, in large part because can't find anything better that's above the valley heat. Long list of rules that are draconically enforced is first problem. Pretty place, but very dirty because of unpaved roads/sites & soil-type. Great bath/shower rooms. Lake is low, but no problem for us. Lots of birds (herons, eagles, turkey vultures, pelicans, etc) & some deer. Small camp store, but decent grocery/restaurants in Chester, 2 miles. Easy access to Lassen Park & easy 50-mile drive to Susanville (with a number of nice photo-ops) if you really need a Wal-mart. Very nice golf course 3 miles with many others within 25 or so. We'll probably stay here again in future, but wouldn't hesitate to jump to somewhere else if it could be found.

Best KOA we've ever been to. A little chaotic at check in, but management handled it well. Among nicest rest/shower rooms ever seen at any campground except for tiny shower stalls. Adequate camp store. Great town for a weekend and nice 9-hole golf course -- 3 miles.

This was our favorite park of 7 on our Olympia to San Diego trip. Clean, quiet (except for some road noise from I5), friendly. Only down-side was the pesky street light that looked in our trailer window all night. Didn't get to try the golf course, but looked to be well taken care of. We'll definitely stay here again when in the area. Highly recommend "Granzellas" restaurant up the road at Williams for lunch or dinner! Great Pizza, ribs & shopping

Very pretty park. Nice restroom/showers. Early season so not in full operation. Some road noise from I-5, but no trains to disturb sleep. EZ on-line reservation system. We'd definitely stay here again, either as overnighter or longer stay.

Nice park, but we were there early in the season so not yet fully spruced up. Nicest, cleanest bath/shower rooms of the 7 parks we stayed in during our Olympia-San Diego trip. Rated 8 instead of higher because we were assigned a scruffty site on the fringe of the park when lots of nicer ones, closer to the facilities, were available. We would stay here again when in the area. Highly recommend the Iron Skillet at Talent, Ore for meals out.

This is a city of Hesperia municipal park, & the condition is about what one would expect for that. It's high desert, flat, open & a long way from luxurious. It's obviously under-funded & needs maintenance, but it's kept clean, well-run & quiet time was well enforced despite an annual "pow wow" being held there the weekend we were there. It's off a rural road, so there was very little road noise to disturb our sleep. It's certainly not a "destination" but, based on the reviews of the other places in the area, including a cousin I have who lives there, it seems the place of choice for an overnight or two if the opportunity presents. We would stay there again when in the area. The lake yielded 1 huge trout & several large catfish that we saw during our 3 days there.

Pine Mountain Lake is an expensive, exclusive retirement/resort community. It seemed obvious that their purpose in having a campground would be to attract friends of property owners & potential new members/owners. Apparently not so! When I made my reservations for May (in January) they insisted I pay in full, by check, not credit card, but then didn't cash the check for 2 months. It took 3 calls before I could get anyone to acknowledge they'd even received it. Upon arrival, the gatekeeper informed me that the campground wasn't part of the lake complex, but was 3 miles on down the road. When we got there, only 3 other sites were occupied & 2 of them not actually inhabited. The site we'd been assigned required a long twisting downhill back-in so we took a different one- no one noticed, there was no 'host' on site. After setting up our trailer, we went to the bathrooms (which seem to be located so as to be as inaccessible as possible from every site in the place) only to discover they had punch-code locks & we didn't have the code. No cell service in the park so we had to drive back to the gate keeper's den to get it. 2 Days later a company truck drove in, gave us a friendly wave & went down & changed the codes without telling us. Again, back to the dreaded gate keeper. No apology for the inconvenience this time either. That night a pleasant young man with a middle-european accent knocked to inquire "Please, how does one acquire the rest-room code?". Obviously it's a closely guarded secret. The park's in a pretty little valley with several creeks through it, but it was a mess. The only "maintenance" that appeared to have been done was to refill the TP & the paper towels in the restroom. The utilities are also on the wrong side for most of the hookup sites There were deer, squirrels, birds & a great nightly 'bat show'. The golf course was very nice, but $65 a round & slopes 133, so be prepared. It's an hour & a half drive to Yosemite Valley. This is a 'never again' place for us because of the (lack of) management issues. We shoulda known when my wife's cousin who lives there asked "Why'd you pick there instead of someplace nicer?".

This is a well laid out, very clean RV park that’s much more a ‘parking lot’ than a ‘campground’. It had the nicest, cleanest bath/shower room of any of the places we stayed during our 16 day 3800 mile trip, but…. When I made my reservations, 3 months in advance, I told the clerk we’d be in around midnight. “No problem. There will be a note on the BB directing you to your site.” Well there was, but what they didn’t tell us was that unless you got there before the office closed (8pm?) you had no access to the bathrooms until it reopened @ 8am the next morning. Since we’re not self-contained this left us dashing across the freeway to the gas station fast/food place. We were not happy about this, but it wasn’t fatal. The park is within a hundred yard of the 99 freeway, so it was a very noisy night & we didn’t get much sleep despite not turning in until nearly 1am. We were up @ 6:30, back to the Jack In the Box, & waiting at the office door when it opened. The ‘rendering plant’ smell referred to in an earlier review was not in evidence that night. The reservation clerk had told me there’s none such in the area, but the smell could have been agricultural chemicals used on the cotton fields that surround them when I asked her specifically about it. When we went in to register, & get access to the shower, the woman behind the counter said “There’s normally a $5 deposit for the bathroom key..” I responded, “That’s fine, we’ll have it back in 10 minutes.” not realizing she hadn’t finished. She clicked her tongue, gave me “the look”, & waited for me to apologize for interrupting her. She then told me in a voice dripping with condescension that she had been going to waive the deposit. Since we now had access thru the office to the back door of the bathhouse, we didn’t’ need it anyway. We showered & escaped. I’ve no clue who (or what) she was, but we will never go back there. She had no way to know what my state of mind was, but there’s no excuse for someone in her business copping that attitude with a customer. I don’t go back to golf courses or ski resorts that act like they’re doing you a favor taking your money & allowing you to use their facilities & I certainly won’t do it at a place like this.

Have stayed here dozens of times over 20 years. Our favorite anywhere. New management took over about 5 years ago & tremendous improvement. Sunny or shady sites, whichever you prefer. Seasonal types keep to themselves & never cause any problems for campers. Quiet time & dog rules enforced. Great for group (15-30) I take there year after year. Not posh, but a great place for a fun weekend or longer.
